<title>Outsourcing of Meals at Home stopped in Newcastle</title>
<link>http://www.european-services-strategy.org.uk/news/2007/newcastle-meals-outsourcing/</link>
<description>ESSU has worked with Newcastle City UNISON with a report and presentation to Members and senior officers detailing the case against the outsourcing of meals at home, resource and day centres. Bids to supply frozen meals from Fresh Community Meals (ISS) and Appetito were rejected. The in-house service, supplied by Neighbourhood Services, must produce an acceptable Service Improvement Plan or the service will be retendered (report is confidential but see file of press coverage).</description>
