It is said that a community should be judged by the way it cares for its elderly. Over the past three years Wakefield Council has with
the support of UNISON sought to deliver a Home Care Service of which this community can be proud. Inspectors have recently praised it as a high quality service delivered by well-motivated and trained staff. They have however criticised the cost of the services and are set to recommend large-scale privatisation of the service.
